Identity Beyond Borders presents a new selection of works from the Farnesina Collection in Tokyo. Curated by Benedetta Carpi De Resmini, the exhibition is divided into three sections: Roots of Resistance, Geographies of Detachment, and Unstable Ecologies.
The exhibition explores identity and the relationship between humans and nature in a world shaped by environmental crises, migration, geopolitical instability, and cultural change. It also highlights the connections between Italian art and Japanese aesthetics, thought, and culture.
The idea of the border is reinterpreted not simply as a geographical boundary, but as a space for encounter and exchange. Alongside photography, graphic arts, and video installations, the Tokyo edition also includes poetry and new installations created specifically for the exhibition.
