Alice Ronchi was born in 1989, Ponte dell’Olio, Italy. She received her MFA from the Sandberg Instituut of Amsterdam in 2015 after graduating in 2012 at NABA academy in Milan where she currently teaches Sculpture, the international english course. Ronchi often collaborates with institutions, schools and museums to design workshops for children.
In her works, everyday objects meet the world of invention and fantasy. The search for wonder is a constant theme in her research, populated by familiar yet enigmatic figures, the product of an abstract reworking. Somewhere in between playful and minimal, her work is a perfect synthesis between the simplicity of expression and complexity of forms and meanings. With the use of different media, ranging from sculpture to photography, from performance to video, Ronchi questions reality through a careful and curious gaze, giving us her magical vision.

She exhibited at Gasconade space, Milan, Peep-Hole, Milan (both 2013); Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin; La Triennale Museum, Milano (both 2014), Galleria civica di Trento, Trento, Fons Welters Gallery, Amsterdam (both 2015); Macro Museum, Rome and Stadgalerie, Kiel (both 2016), MamBo, Bologna (2018), MAXXI, Rome (2019), GAM, Turin (2020), Palazzo Borromeo, Ambasciata d’Italia – Santa Sede del Vaticano, Rome (2021), Palazzo Ducale, Genoa, ICA, Milan (both 2023).

In 2021 she designed the Formula 1 trophy for the Imola Grand Prix, commissioned by Pirelli in collaboration with Pirelli HangarBicocca. In 2022 her public sculpture ‘E’ Amore’ made for “Una Boccata d’Arte” festival, curated by Elpis foundation and Galleria Continua located in Montemarcello village, become permanent.
